Dear Little Baby Girl Child

Dear Little Baby Girl Child

Dear Little Baby Girl Child Nestled in my Arms, I see you looking up at me, with big brown eyes. I see you smiling. Happy to be clean, cradled, and loved. Safe, innocent, with your tiny, feminist fist already flailing and pumping. A girl baby without a story. No stories at all to tell, just […]

Bad Ass Body Confident Goddesses

Bad Ass Body Confident Goddesses

I was calmly sitting on my mat, trying to “center myself” before a mixed-level yoga class, when in walked a beautifully thick, strong woman who boldly wore The Forbidden: White yoga pants. Yes, white. I know, right? And they were beyond tight. They looked as though they were painted on her skin. And the fabric? […]

I Came Back

I Came Back

Last night, Corpse Pose brought me back to life. A few weeks ago, I sat down to really think about why I wasn’t “happy, silly old me” anymore. Nothing seemed exciting in my world (except for the season premier of This Is Us). I’ve been dragging myself around for a while now. I’m still having my special […]

About Kim

I am a poet, a writer, an over-the-top mischief maker, a trash talker, and an old school dirty bird. I wear two bras when I run (for my own safety), I pee in the woods (more often than you might think), and I will never (ever) say no to a properly aerated glass of Malbec on a Friday night. I use words like “feminist” and “sartorial” and “no” and actively flirt with a decline in readership whenever I put them all into one, cohesive sentence. I like dogs, trails, succulents, books, and dreams. I could easily devour 5 salted avocados every day if I'm left unattended. I strive to live with a grateful, open heart. What I know to be true is that there is always time for personal reflection and change. It's never too late to grow new wings and learn to fly again. Namaste!

My essays and poetry can also be found at Rebelle Society, The Elephant Journal, The Manifest-Station, The Minds Journal, The Imperfect Parent, Scary Mommy, BonBon Break, and Today's Mama.

I was interviewed for Weeklyfindings.com for the Wholly Curious: Meaningful Work section. The article appears here: http://www.weeklyfindings.com/whollycuriousinterviews/volume-2-issue-no-1
